Menopause at work: a health reality still rarely discussed

Perimenopause and menopause can come with changes that affect sleep, energy, concentration, memory, mood, or temperature regulation, among other things. Their intensity and impact vary considerably from one person to another.

In the workplace, a lack of information can contribute to misunderstanding, isolation, or stigma. Accurate, nuanced information helps employees better understand what they are experiencing, while giving managers reference points for responding with respect and discernment.

Inform without medicalizing

Acknowledge a health reality without assuming what any individual employee is experiencing.

Reduce stigma

Create a shared language that makes more respectful conversations possible.

Better equip workplaces

Give employees, managers, and HR teams reference points suited to their respective roles.
